30 years ago this week a man carried four handguns into Dunblane Primary School and murdered a teacher and 16 children.

On 13 March 1996 Thomas Hamilton entered Dunblane Primary School with four handguns and killed 16 pupils and one teacher (Gwen Mayor) before killing himself. It remains the UK's deadliest mass shooting; PMQs on 11 March 2026 falls in the same week as the 30th anniversary.
